3 out of 5 stars Not that great   March 15, 2010

The fit of the ear buds are great, I could wear them for hours. Unfortunately, the sound is not that great.

1 out of 5 stars Believe the Non-Hype   March 15, 2010

People, the reviews are true! I have pushed hours of music through these buds since before Christmas 2009 and I still have the awful treble domination. I think several reviewers have used the word "tinny." Unfortunately they are all true. As with several products that are reviewed on Amazon, I have learned to heed the reviews about negative features on products and this set of buds fulfills my new enlightenment. They are contstructed nicely, look great and are comfortable, but at the end of the day (or in my case at the end of several days) the sound quality is just not there. And to make matters worse, my half price, clearance Skullz I use with my ipod on workout days has consistently performed better with a higher sound quality than the Jlab. I am well aware of the break in period and I feel that maybe Jlab has pulled a fast one with that story. 12 weeks of break in time should have cured the tin can blues I've had with these things, but to no avail. The search continues folks....hope springs eternal, but not with these Jlabs.....BELEIVE THE NON-HYPE.

Sound quality is acceptable. Love the color and the fit. Works for my work environment. Would like the cord to be longer.

2 out of 5 stars Tinny Sound and can't work out in them   March 14, 2010

After the great reviews - I thought the quality must be good. But like others have said, they sound tinny. Messed with the equalizer settings and still can't find an acceptable sound. Also have others have said, you can't work out on these. If the cord bounces on your body at all, there is horrible feedback into the sound stream. On the bright side, the case is nice. But I would not purchase again.

5 out of 5 stars Well worth the price   March 14, 2010

I've only had the J3's for a couple days now, but I'm very happy with the sound quality so far and they are not even fully burned in yet.

When I first got the J3's I plugged them in to my IPod Nano and thought, well they're worth the asking price, but could be a little better. Of course I was comparing them to my Klipsch S4's at over twice the price. I started the burn in process and after about 10 hours of burn in I decided to listen to them again. WOW! The bass had more thump, the mids had become more pronounced and the highs sounded great. I wasn't sure if I believed in the burn in process, but I can tell you that it definitely makes a difference with these headphones.

The burn in process really closed the gap between the J3's and my S4's. At this point the S4's have a touch more range, but remember I'm not even close to the 40 hour burn in time yet.

I don't think you can beat these buds for the price. I have Klipschs, Sony's, Phillips and a cheap pair of JVC's and I like the JBud's so well I'm ordering another set for my wife. JBuds stand behind their product with a one year warranty, so if there are any issues I know they will take care of it. (They actually read these reviews and have responded to at least one reviewer that I know of)

JLabs has a great website, with test tracks to listen for the highs, mids, and lows and they also provide a burn in track. Great support JLabs!

Give them a try I think you'll be impressed, but remember not to judge them straight out of the box, they get better with break in.
